The law in France is set to change, and devices to alert drivers to speed traps are due to become illegal, perhaps in Spring 2012. I have had emails from TomTom about how to disable this facility on my satnav. Amongst the penalties for having such devices is the confiscation of the vehicle … |

Ireland do not have any fixed speed cameras, only mobile, so this is useless for Ireland. Also, it is illegal to posses AND SELL these devices in Ireland. http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/1991/en/si/0050.html

Ireland does have fixed speed cameras just not so many of them. It is illegal to have a radar detector not a device that tells you were the fixed cameras are or where a mobile camera could possibly be. You can get apps for the iphone and android that do this, they are not illegal as they are not detecting anything they are just telling you were cameras normally are. if that was the case the gards would have to take down off their own site the areas and roads they might put the mobile speed cameras from the independent operators. |
